Traffic Widgets

Have you seen those cool little traffic widgets, like the one I have below?

Well I have 3 right now. I enjoy seeing where in the world people come to see my blog, and what posts are they interested in.

I have Feedjit which tells me when, where, and what post, the visitor is reading. Most the time its the main page, but some people come for a specific post.

The other widget I have is a simple Neocounter by Neoworks. You can pay to have a premium account, but I have the free version. This widget just tells me what countries and how many people from that country. Its pretty simple and not too detailed.

The last one I have is just a page counter from blogspot. Easy. It just shows page  views for all time.

Now as much as I love having these widgets, they do tend to slow down the loading of the blog page. Atleast they seem to.

So now I have a decision to make. Should I only use one? and delete the others. Probably so, and see how it goes from there.

I notice my blog loads slow some times so I am looking to clean up.
There are some other things that could possibly be slowing the loading down: pictures, links, other things I know nothing about 🙂

I do try to put all my links on a separate page. Not sure if this is helping or hurting the situation. I do like a clean and not so busy blog. I like to link to others, but it all seems so cluttered on the front page. I like simple decor on my blog 🙂

So I am on a quest to speed up this blog. So I will be getting rid of all but one counter. The Feedjit.

Why have I decided to keep the Feedjit? Because it shows me the most details. I don’t know who is visiting, just where they are and what they are reading. So don’t worry, I don’t know who you are, unless you leave a comment!

My Disclosure:
These “counter people” don’t have a clue who I am and I am not getting paid to talk about them. I just wanted to share.
