Latest Teen Books Filled with what Spirit?

Preface: I just started this post to talk about teen books and the direction they were headed, then I got off on a tangent. I don’t apologize for my belief so happy reading!

Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV)

19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

I can tell you NOT THE SPIRIT OF GOD!

I was browsing through the media section of my local library to see what teen books I could borrow to the girls Kindles. I searched by popularity, and the first several, and I mean like pages and pages, were all books about Witchcraft, Fairies, Murder, Werewolves, Vampires, and on and on. Not to mention the sexualized covers of these teen books.  So I am sure there is sex in them in some form or another.

I had a hard time finding any books with out Witchcraft in it. I know there is lots of debate over “fairy-tale magic”, but to me, magic is magic.
I have always struggled and waivered on this type of magic.

But after studying my bible, I just don’t want to chance it. Its not worth the short pleasure when your eternal soul is on the line.

So as I go through these books, pages and pages, I can’t help but wonder where are the clean books. Obviously someone or something is working hard to get anything moral and clean away from our children. They do want to desensitize our culture and children, to take us back to times when children and women were not valued and not protected.

Let protect our children from these evil things.

Look into what your children are reading, watching, and listening to. Books, movies, and music are all full of evil things, sex, drugs, and witchcraft (Lady Gaga has a song very popular that is a witchcraft chant. I can’t think of the reference right this moment, but if anyone is interested and leaves a comment, then I will find it for you).

Or, you can go on thinking your children are fine with what they are doing. And they could be damaging their soul and falling into darkness, slowly, and they won’t even know it because they believe all the lies coming from pulpits today, that its OK! God is only a God of love. God is love, but that is not all he is. He is our Judge and Jury.

Deuteronomy 32:3-5 (KJV)

3Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
5They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

And this is why I do not like the NIV, look at how it changes the words so much that the meaning is NOT the same! It talks nothing of God’s judgment. The lies of today do not want you to know that God is a JUDGE! LIES LIES LIES! GOD IS OUR JUDGE ALSO!

Deuteronomy 32:3-5 (NIV)

3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
   upright and just is he.

 5 They are corrupt and not his children;
to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation.

For you NIV’ers if you want your bible verses in this format:

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5: 19-21 (NIV)

He sacrificed his children in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced divination and witchcraft, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, arousing his anger.
2 Chronicles 33:5-7 (NIV)

  1. Totally with you! My girls are pre-teens, and I am already dreading all the garbage I'll have to wade through in terms of books (and everything else!). Thankfully, they have an appetite for good lit so I think I can gear them towards the classics instead of the modern junk…but it's all pretty scary, isn't it?
