Review: Homeschool Buyers Co-op

I wanted to share with you about my excellent experience with the Homeschool Buyers Co-op.
I have placed 2 orders and both have went smoothly. I will be using the Co-op to do more ordering when I am able. I am working on a 3rd order now for The Critical Thinking Co.

It is where providers of Curriculum and other products come together with the co-op to save all of us money.
You get wholesale/group savings on purchases you make.

It took me a while to use the site as I was unsure about it.

Then I was brave!

I ordered something I had wanted on my wish list but was too expensive for me to buy at Vision Forum.

Here is how it works.

Vision Forum offered products through the co-op. Depending on how many people order, decides how much of a discount you get.

I wanted to order    History of Christianity & Western Civilization Study Course

from Vision Forum since it debuted.
On the VF site the set costs $95.

I ordered it through the Homeschool Buyers Co-op for 50% off. I was super excited.

Shipping was speedy.

I also needed to contact the co-op customer service and they were very pleasant to work with (and they are very busy).

Here is another one for you.

I still need curriculum for this year and I use some Alpha Omega Publications workbooks: LifePac series.

On the co-op site I purchased my Lifepac Bible for a 10% discount and I received smartpoints.
(Smart-points let me earn more curriculum, Keep reading)

Some other tid bits:

  • Each year I print out a free Homeschool I.D. for each of us to keep in our purses.

  • There are different ways to earn Smartpoints. You can visit the co-op and make purchases of curriculum or you can visit the shopping mall and click a link to a Retail store you were going to shop at any ways, like Walmart, Netflix, or Overstock.com, and earn Smartpoints for every dollar you spend. (to learn more about the Smartpoint program, click on the logo below).

  • There are also lots of other resources like a Field Trip finder, Money Tips, Deals of the Month, Contests, Scholarships, Local Shopping list of places you can shop with a discount, and more.
  • They also offer a curriculum classified section where you can either sell your old curriculum or buy someone else’s that they don’t need any more.
